Y. Alvin Huang, MD, PhD, is the James and Dorothy Goodman Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry and Neurology at Brown University. Dr. Huang is a physician-scientist trained in neurology, neuroscience, and stem cell biology, with a research program focused on brain cellular interactions in cognitive biology and dysfunctions. His laboratory uses human iPSC-based models, transgenic animal systems, and molecular neuroscience approaches to understand how altered synaptic and glial signaling contributes to disorders such as Angelman syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. His work has contributed to the understanding of UBE3A biology, synaptic dysfunction, neuroimmune signaling, and translational therapeutic strategies for neurocognitive disorders.
