Associate Professor and head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Instituto de Nutrição Josué de Castro (Nutrition Institute) of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nutritionist with Msc and PhD in Nutritional Sciences. Experienced part of doctorate at Cornell University as Fulbright visiting scholar grantee. Currently the principal investigator of first national study aimed at collecting sociodemographic, clinical and nutritional data on Angelman community in Brazil.

As registered dietitian, also provides nutritional counselling and support for families in partnership with Angelan Brasil association. Proud mother of two, Lara and Lis, who lives with Angelman syndrome.
